Hospital Helicopter Pad Gets A New Face
June 26, 2006—Berry Brothers General Contractor gave the Pioneers Medical Center Helicopter Pad a new face,
improving landing conditions. This past Saturday (June 24, 2006) Berry Brothers donated the time and materials to resurface the helipad
for critical patient transportation. James Cooper, Scott Cooper and Jonathan Shepherd, Berry Brothers employees, repainted the
helicopter landing pad and ER parking lot at the entrance to the emergency room.
“The Helipad is a critical tool when handling emergency patients. Maintaining a landing location that is safe, well-marked
and well-lit improves response time to emergency situations.” Said Drew Varland, Chief Nursing Officer, Pioneers Medical Center.
“We appreciate the contribution by Berry Brothers and its employees because approximately 6% of the emergency visits to Pioneers
Medical Center need helicopter transportation.”
Berry Brothers donated the industrial, black top paint and their employees time to lay the paint, in total about a $1,500 value to the hospital.
“When we learned that this was a need the hospital had; it seemed natural for Berry Brothers to help out.” Said James
Cooper, Superintendent Safety Coordinator, Berry Brothers General Contractor. “We have all the equipment and materials, let’
s help out.” |
